refresh after my Shanghai vacation. i comes up with the concept of this week illustration friday theme during my trip. under the cruel mid day sun, i rested in the Han-yuan bookstore+cafe and laid my eyes on the old street...the linden trees, the buildings, everything reminds me about the old shanghai that is gone with the wind...that moment the vision of this drawing float across my head. i hope it catch the theme rite, and hope it can catch a little bit of the old shanghai flair...

i like watching plants grow. especially when i'm tired, unhappy, depressed, lost the passion of living, i would water and pamper all my little greens in my house, watching them grow silently can remind me the miracles of life and regain my power :D amongst all, witnessing the growing of water plants in glass container gives me the largest pleasure. once i cut off one leave from the mother plant and put it in a glass pot, within days i noticed how fast it's buds stretched into long roots...everyday returned home i can see it grow longer, grow "curler", it grow so wildly in water and eventually becomes a beautiful line art alive! at that moment, looking at this little leave, i see the world. i see life. see some of my plants in real here: (oh...they all stemp from the same plant! xD)
