illustration friday: "imagine"

i didn't draw last week :( this is my old posting....but now i think it might be good for last week "illustration friday" topic: "Imagine". This is my drawing draft for little boy Aidan, wishing the lovely boy grow with a big heart, dare to imagine, brave enough to follow his dream :D Posted by Picasa

fallen' again....for watercoloring...

i don't really have official training on painting...and more i draw, more i found the real skill i'm lacking. yet i'm a really lazy person, instead of class room training, i bought quite a few good waterdrawing books and force myself to really sit down and practice the "watercoloring 101" skill: color and value, wash and wash and wash.
here's are the simple exercises i "copied" from my "copybook". i'm a person really difficult to really abandon the idea in my mind and strictly follow other's instruction...kaka...this is the very first time i really do it and whew, i really learn a lot! these practices really let me have a new understanding of watercoloring, like a chilling refreshing for my old mind. Oh, i'm fallen in love with watercoloring AGAIN!!

sur·prise (sr-prz) tr.v. :
"To encounter suddenly or unexpectedly; take or catch unawares.
To cause to feel wonder, astonishment, or amazement, as at something unanticipated. "
....the world of mankind was so free of worry and unexpected problems...
and then one day,
Pandora open the forbidden box....

illustration friday: "blue"

Blue...
is tranquility
is meditation
is empty
is dream
is depth
is float
is lost
is escape
is night
is remote
is wisdom
is free...is basic...afterall, everything is blue...

illustration friday: "small"

to see a heaven in a flower, to hold the eternity with the smallest palm...

inspired by William Blake's:
To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
